Post TWRA Spending $304,000 on Hog Traps & Hog Gear
We went to the TWRC meeting in Chattanooga today and the TWRA finally admitted they are spending $304,000 on hog traps, trailers to haul them, and game cameras to set at the traps.

They refused to give us a figure on man hours, even though we have been asking for those numbers since September 2011. However, using their estimates from the fish survey, I would guess they are spending at least $800,000 on labor for the hog eradication program, PER YEAR.

 We knew then that this would be the case  The amount they are spending per hog is outstanding. They could have just let houndsmen and still hunters hunt them without restriction and the money would have been better spent reimbursing farmers, since that is supposed to be the group they are seeking to help by doing away with our hunting rights.

Hogs are showing back up here now, but they cant/wont admit that their bright idea didn't work. They swear up and down somebody is turning them loose. The FACT is the ONLY reason they trapped what they did couple years ago was because of drought conditions.
With all the rain and food past couple years the few they DIDN'T catch, are making a come back.
And it never worked in Kansas either.
