Post Re: Jackson meeting
Hi Bart!

We actually made some slight, but temporary progress. There were two changes made, but at this point they only apply to this season.

Changes are as follows.

1) hunters will be able to kill hogs from now until February 28th 2012 on hunting leases that were in place before September 15th 2011.

2) If you are bear hunting in a county or area where bear season is open, you can kill an Incidental hog should your dogs bay one while bear hunting. Again, you can NOT go out and hog hunt in those counties, but if you are bear hunting and have the opportunity you can kill a hog. Remember this applies to this 2011 season ONLY.

This fight is far from over. A couple of commissioners emphasized multiple times that "hog hunting in Tennessee is over. Hunters might as well get over it."

I agree, I am going to ride them like Seabiscuit until we get this turned around. We can't do it without everyones help though.

I have included a link to the updated proclamation in the members section of these forums.

If you are a member of the Tennessee Hunters Alliance and can't access that section, let me know.
